If you haven’t been hanging around until now- you may not know that I have a bit of an obsession with my crock pot. I love how easy it is to make just about anything in it. There are says that regardless of how easy the dinner is I have chosen to make, I just don’t have the energy to cook anything at the end of the day. Or maybe it’s the motivation. Either way, I just have no interest in cooking some days by the time dinner rolls around.

If you’ve missed out on this little series, I’ve got going on, here are the details- my life is sheer chaos right now with work, after school activities, and the approaching holidays. From now until the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Monday through Friday, I will be posting a new crock pot/ slow cooker recipe. Some of these recipes will be so easy, you’ll wonder why you didn’t think to dump that stuff in your good ol’ crock pot. Others will be a little more work, none of them will take more than 15 minutes to prepare. I’ll try to fill you in on the little tricks I’ve come up with to make them easier when I have them, and I will let you know if there happens to be a way to make them even simpler than they are to begin with, and give you that option too!

crock pot spaghetti sauce
[convertkit]
ingredients
- 2- 28 oz cans of tomato sauce
- 2- 28 oz cans of crushed tomatoes
- 2- 6 oz cans of tomato paste
- 3 TBSP italian seasonings
- 2 TBSP garlic salt
- 2 TBSP crushed red pepper
- 3/4 brown sugar
- 1 cup parmesan cheese (optional)
This recipe makes more than enough for a couple of dinners. You could easily cut this recipe in half and still have leftovers. I like to make extras to use in other recipes.
Dump all of your ingredients in the slow cooker or crock pot (call it whatever you want!) and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
Pour it over your favorite pasta, add some garlic bread, and a salad- if you’re feeling fancy. done. dinner is done. So simple, and I totally feel like I did something special because, hey, it’s homemade sauce!
